Zac Efron Gets a Ticket )
Carrying on with his rigorous workout routine, Zac Efron was spotted leaving a gym near his home earlier today looking mighty fine.

The “Seventeen Again” stud sported a pulled-back hairdo along with a black Draven shirt and some khaki cargo shorts along with a messenger bag and sneakers.

But, low and behold, when the High School Musical star returned to his swanky ride, he was unpleasantly greeted with a written warning ticket from the gym’s management informing him that he was parked in a restricted space.

At least he didn’t get towed, as any non-celebrity probably would have. Nevertheless, not even a cutie like Zac is above the law!

neener! neener! neener!
The widow of producer Aaron Spelling paid a whopping $47 million for a two-story condo atop a Century City residential tower that's still under construction, her lawyer said.
The price paid by Candy Spelling for the 16,500-square-foot property works out to $2,848 a square foot, a record price for a Los Angeles condo unit, the Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday.

The previous record of $2,700 was set at the same Century tower project in February.
Spelling will be move into her unit in about a year, her attorney Stephen Goldberg said.
The condo isn't the first record-breaking residence for Spelling. Her current abode, a 123-room mansion that she and her husband dubbed "The Manor," is the largest home in Los Angeles County at 56,500 square feet.

The house in the affluent Holmby Hills neighborhood sits on six acres and has 11 bedrooms, 16 bathrooms and amenities such as a bowling alley, doll museum and gift-wrapping room.
Related Cos., developer of the Century project, said Spelling's new digs will have a living room with two working fireplaces, a dining room for 25 guests, a 4,000-square-foot master bedroom suite and a conservatory with a rose garden, as well as a swimming pool and deck.
Goldberg said Spelling was moving in order to downscale her living space after her husband's death in 2006. She'll now seek to sell her lavish estate, which was built between 1986 and 1990, he said.

Radio Idiot Dropped from Mississippi Stations

Talk Radio Network host Michael Savage has been dropped from a Mississippi radio network after making defamatory comments about autistic children on his show last week. The Savage Nation host, who has repeatedly bashed the gay community on air, called autistic children ‘brats’ and said autism is nothing more than a ‘fraud’. Savage has also lost at least one major advertiser over the inflammatory remarks.

A network of seven stations in Mississippi has announced they will no longer carry the Savage Nation radio program following derogatory remarks made by host Michael Savage about autistic children.

Steve Davenport, head of the Super Talk network in Mississippi, called Savage’s comments “beyond inexcusable.”

“Effective immediately, Michael Savage and his Savage Nation Radio Show have been cancelled on all Super Talk Mississippi stations,” Davenport said, according to the New York Daily News.

In an episode of the nationally-syndicated talk radio show last week, Savage called autism a “fraud” and a “racket” and used a variety of slurs to describe autistic children.

“I’ll tell you what autism is,” Savage said during the program. “In 99% percent of the cases, it’s a brat who hasn’t been told to cut the act out. That’s what autism is.”

Savage continued by saying autistic children “don’t have a father around to tell them, ‘Don’t act like a moron. You’ll get nowhere in life. Stop acting like a putz. Straighten up. Act like a man. Don’t sit there crying and screaming, idiot.’”

In addition to being dropped by the Mississippi radio network, Savage also lost a major advertiser for his program over the remarks. The AFLAC insurance company announced they would be pulling all advertisements sponsoring Savage’s show.

“AFLAC has a strong commitment to helping children through the AFLAC Cancer Center and AFLAC foundation,” the statement read. “We understand that radio hosts pick on any number of targets however we found his recent comments about autistic children to be both inappropriate and insensitive.”

In response to the controversy stirred up by his comments, Savage posted a statement on his web site defending his words. “My comments about autism were meant to boldly awaken parents and children to the medical community’s attempt to label too many children or adults as ‘autistic,’” Savage said.

J. Jioni Palmer, a spokesperson for MediaMatters.org, said Savage's statement offers no excuse for his behavior on air. "Michael Savage is desperately trying to dig himself out of a hole by qualifying his original comments," Palmer said. "The reality is he didn't use any qualifiers when taking his mean-spirited swipe at children with autism and their families."

John Gilmore, executive director of Autism United said Savage’s comments were “reprehensible,” according to the Boston Herald. “We are asking him to be fired and we want to make advertisers aware of what he is broadcasting.” Autism United, along with several other major autism organizations, are asking for Savage to be boycotted and fired over his remarks.

Savage has found himself the subject of enormous backlash in the past for derogatory comments made against various minority groups, especially the LGBT community. Four months after a televised version of Savage’s show was picked up by MSNBC in 2003, Savage was pulled off the network after telling a caller he was a “sodomite” and saying he “should only get AIDS and die, you pig.”

The popular right-wing radio host has also repeatedly compared homosexuality with pedophilia and famously told his listeners: “When you hear ‘human rights,’ think gays. When you hear ‘human rights,’ think only one thing, someone who wants to rape your son.”

Exciting updates on HILARY DUFF'S next album

1. Recording for the album starts later this week/early next week.
2. About 6 songs written. 11 instrumentals sent to us so far from 5 different producers.
3. “Reach Out” premiering in August
4. Delays were caused by a dispute on whether this should be a promo track or the first single and even more delays from revisions on the video.

Instrumentals weren't posted yet, but I'm glad they spent so much time trying to get "Reach Out"
perfect. For those who don't know it samples Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus", and does it well, exceeding expectations on what people thought Hilary Duff would do with the song. The dark vibe of the song and racy lyrics are extremely unexpected from Hilary.

Bale and Blazic @ 'The Dark Knight' premiere in Spain

Christian Bale
and his wife Sibi Blazic put on brave faces at the premiere of The Dark Knight at Coliseum Cinema on Wednesday in Barcelona, Spain.

The 34-year-old Welsh actor arrived in a 15-car motorcade and appeared calm in the wake of allegations he assaulted his mother and one of his three sisters at a top London hotel. Bale put on a happy face and did not speak to reporters and made no comment about the incident.

In box office news, The Dark Knight earned $24 million on Monday and $20.8 million on Tuesday. That means it just broke another record–the first film to cross the $200 million mark in a mere five days!

Seven and a Half Years in the Making

I’m back!!! Sorry for the hiatus, the weeks leading up the wedding were hectic, and I was only allowed to get 15 minutes of internet a day in Cancun. I was back in NY for one day and then jetted off to Venice for our honeymoon cruise around the Mediterranean. Internet on the cruise costs an arm and a leg, so I’m glad to finally be back on land and back home!

For the first time,

Jenny Craig co-founder dies
The co-founder of Jenny Craig Inc., who built the weight loss company with his wife, Jenny, has died, the company said Tuesday.

Sid Craig died Monday in San Diego following a long illness. He was 76.

Sid and Jenny Craig founded Jenny Craig Inc. in 1982 in Melbourne, Australia. The company eventually grew to include 655 weight loss centers in four countries. In 2006, Nestle SA bought the Carlsbad, California-based company for $600 million.

Sid Craig was an avid thoroughbred fan. He and Jenny Craig owned Paseana, who won the Breeders' Cup Distaff in 1992 and lost the same race by a nose in 1993. The couple purchased a 237-acre (96-hectare) horse racing stables and breeding operation in Rancho Santa Fe, north of San Diego, in 1995.

The couple also owns a minority partnership in the Phoenix Suns pro basketball team.

"Together, he and Jenny built the strong foundation of our company's values, culture, and mission of improving people's lives by helping them lose weight and keep it off," Patti Larchet, Jenny Craig's chief executive officer, wrote on the company's Web site.

Craig was born March 22, 1932, in Vancouver, British Columbia. In the mid-1950s, he worked as a part-time instructor at Arthur Murray Dance Studios and later purchased five franchises.

In the 1970s, he bought a stake in a women's salon, Body Contour Inc., and later opened other salons. It was during this period he met Jenny Guidroz Bourcq, who worked as director of operations for the salons. The two later married.

The Craigs sold their stake in Body Contour and moved to Australia where they opened the first Jenny Craig weight loss center.

Sid Craig is survived by his wife and five children. Funeral services for Craig will be private.

Wedding Theme? What?

I need to stop reading bridal magazines. Seriously, every ‘real wedding’ they profile has some kind of outlandish theme like “Canoeing down the Ganges River,” or “Springtime in Antarctica.” These of course were matched by very refined wedding palates. What happened to the theme of “wedding”? I thought that was a pretty good theme in and of itself. I guess it’s less unique than “Circus of Angels,” but hey, call me traditional for not wanting to subject our guests or wedding party to strange outfits made out of neon taffeta.

But, as with everything else, I’m a total hypocrite. I admit that in the back of my mind, once I knew we were going to get married in NOLA, the idea of a speakeasy/cabaret/vintage aesthetic for the reception immediately popped in my head. Not the zoot suits and flapper costumes exactly, but more like the little lamps on the tables, delicious mixed whiskey and bourbon drinks, and a sexy little birdcage veil for me. Of course, this idea was (almost) out the window when we were seriously considering an outdoor venue that…well, I’ll save that for another post.

I’ve seen other people make “inspiration boards,” and in my crazy post-engagement flurry in December, I made one too. Things have changed up a bit, but I think it’s kind of nice to document this process in one place. So here I present, my initial thoughts on the wedding aesthetic:

st1

I don’t have the sources, but I’ll be happy to credit you!

There are some general shots of iconic French Quarter places (the Cathedral), a few ‘real’ NOLA weddings, then some images that capture either dresses/cakes/colors I liked, art deco images for graphic inspiration, and then the one photo of this little San Francisco wedding that looks so perfect I want to die. Cute little tea-length dress, red lipstick, very Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday…and the groom has Buddy Holly hipster glasses. Love it.

Whatchoo think? As Tim Gunn would say, we’ve gotta “make it work”!
